Anything related to Course Maintaince or Work Projects, Volunteer Info, and Action

Postby PosiToddvibes on Thu Sep 20, 2007 10:50 pm

Daniel and I busted ass again today trying to get hole 12 shaped up. We pulled out truck loads of brairs and vines! My arms look like I got attacked by a bunch of hungry stray cats. The GREEN is looking sweet, WORLD CLASS! :D

THIS SATURDAY is going to be a BIG WORKDAY!!!!!!!!!!!

ASU's ultimate frisbee club is planned to bring at least 6 people out (should know more tomorrow).
Todd R says he's going to come out!
Daniel and I will be there! Matt Petrie says he might come out. Josh should be there.

We're hoping to get the CHIPPER THERE! We already have a lot of piles, so we're going to need a lot of draggers! We may even have time to set a few of the basket sleeves, Holes 12, 13, 14!

I really hope to see you all there! Please don't forget to bring what you need to be comfortable working in these conditions.

If you have any questions, feel free to give me a call!

I will be picking up the CHIPPER about 8:30 am, and plan to be out at the park tomorrow (Sat. 9/22) around 9 am!!

We are going to need all the help we can get, so please come out and join us and be prepared to work!

We will take a lunch break, then procede to work for a few more hours or until we feel satisfied. Hopefully, there will be some time in the end to throw some.

Hope to see you all there!

I want to Thank everyone who came out this past Saturday and volunteered some of their time to help tackle some of the work load plagueing the completion of the back 9! :D

Those who contributed deserve a little spotlight attention!

JACOB YOUNG, and The ASU Ultimate Frisbee Club (5 or 6 of them), DANIEL "Mighty" QUIN, BEN "Bronco" WHITEHEAD, and TODD "slack" RIEGER and MYSELF! Not included where a few community service workers and one of the park staff kids.

Overall, I think we all enjoyed the beautiful day and accomplished enough. 18's fairway is out of this world!

A special THANKS to Daniel Quin and Ashe Co. Parks and Rec. for buying pizza and drinks for everyone! We also owe a BIG THANK YOU to Jefferson Rent-All for donating the chipper for the day! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you! :D

Let's keep this momentum rolling! Please let Daniel or myself know if you have the time to GIVE!

Raq Quin ain't lying. I was out on the back 9 today and ain't nothing gotten done! Nothing! At this rate, it'll be Spring. Step it up folks, we need more people working together on this. We need more VOLUNTEERS. Call your neighbors and wake the kids!! Only 4 hrs. a week can accomplish a lot!

Today I worked on the finishing touches for Hole 12. It took me an hour to dig the hole for the basket sleeve, but got it done, it's now ready for a basket. 8) I also put in tee pad markers and the AM tee sign post and cleaned up around both tees. I hate to say it, but a change may be in order as far as the tee pad locations go. We'll just have to see how it plays out the way it is for now.

Josh then helped me hike in the survival gear to I think possibly one of the best holes, Hole 14, a dreadful, uphill, wooded, but fair w/ steep consquences, PAR 4! A real A-(wesome) Hole! We started cleaning up the GREEN, then it poured. Cut a few locust trees that need to be dragged into the pile midway up the fairway.

Anybody own a CHIPPER?

GET OUT THERE AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!! :D

Having a slight rain delay this Thursday morning. No worries Daniel has the tarps out. After looking at the radar it should blow over by lunch time.

Hope to see some of you guys out there later this afternoon!

You got my number, 336-649-0888 !

Another disappointing week as far as the amount of work/volunteer help we've received. It really makes me sick and mad. All I've heard in the past is, "I'll help". So, when? All I'm asking is for 4 hours a week. I know for a fact that some of you sit on your asses and probably watch TV for 4 hours a freakin day. Re-runs probably too!

So, don't say you don't have the time. We all have other things to do. You have to find the time. I bet once the course is finished you'll all find the time. NOT GOING TO BE COOL.

Call me, let me know how and when you can help?

Yesterday, I worked from 12:30 to 7:00 pm straight. Daniel helped out for several hours as well, along with Eric and Dillion (park staff) who pitched in a few hours. Josh showed up after work with "da kine" beverages and finished up "the hole" for the basket sleeve on 14.

It was a good days work, I just wish we had more help.

It's amazing what only 2 people can accomplish in one day! Imagine, if you helped? Or, even more people? The course would be done.

Daniel and I busted ass again all day and it was a lot more fun then I feel right now, or deserve. We worked on hole 13s green, 18's stairway trail and spent some time thinking through some of the details on holes 13, 14, 15.

There still is a lot of work to do, but not that much if we get the man power! Only 2 hours a week makes a huge difference! With the cold and short days quickly approaching, now would be a great time to help!

If you don't have the time or can't handle the labor, then there are other ways to help out posted, or call or email me!

Anyone own a hand crank winch?

Hope to see you next Thursday! If not sooner!

Another long exhausting workday out at the course. I'm physically and mentally worn out.

Big Thanks to the Park Staff, Daniel Quinn, and INNOVA gang for helping to make some serious forward progress today!

Again, Imagine if we had even more people help? Or, join the club!

I really can't understand why more of you lazy bums don't come out of your closets and help out.  Seriously, building the course is actually FUN, and a super nice thing to do for your soul. It may be some hard work, but it feels good.

We could really use some more help?

Next planned group workday will most likely be either next Wednesday or Thursday, Oct. 24, 25th. BUT, ANY DAY WILL DO!!!!!!!! Just let me know?

Don't forget to look on the "simply projects list"!!!!!!!!!!!

There will be several of us out at the park tomorrow, Wed., Oct. 24th. At least I hope so!

Harold and some of the Innova guys are going to be helping out. :D Always good to see them there!

As always, Daniel will be out there getting it done, and I plan to do the same. 8)

We will be out there ALL DAY so don't think getting there at 5:30 pm is too late. A lot can get done in an hour and a half!

Call me if you have any questions about the weather, but as far as I'm concerned it's a lot better then what it could be. (336) 649-0888 cell, Todd Patoprsty.

Well, the tarps are out.

We are currently experiencing a RAIN DELAY.

Kind of a bummer, but WE NEED THE RAIN!

Tomorrow is just a day a way.
